Curfew extended in St Catherine North due to flare up of violence
The curfew that was imposed in sections of St Catherine North has been extended for another 24 hours.
The curfew which began at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday will remain in effect until 6:00 pm on Monday.
It follows a flare up of violence in the area.
At the weekend, three men were fatally shot in alleged confrontations with lawmen.
There were fiery protests in the division on Saturday as residents disputed the circumstances surrounding one of the shootings.
Meantime, areas affected by the security measure include Top Banks , Oxford Road and Spanish Town.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises for 24 hours, unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
