Cruise ship scheduled to make call in Ocho Rios rerouted due to severe weather
The severe weather associated with Hurricane Ian has led to the rerouting of at least one cruise ship that was scheduled to call on the Ocho Rios pier in St. Ann, this week.
Since the weekend, the island has been facing heavy rainfall from the outer bands of the tropical system.
Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Tourism Ministry, Delano Seiveright notes that in light of the poor weather conditions in the Caribbean, major cruise lines had to re-route some vessels, impacting Jamaica.
Other major cruise lines have also adjusted scheduled stops due to Hurricane Ian.
Norwegian cruise line rerouted a Sunday round-trip cruise from Miami with scheduled stops in Grand Cayman, Honduras, and Belize as a result of the storm.
