Crime continues to be the number one issue that people believe is impacting the country.

This, according to pollster Don Anderson.

Speaking during Tuesday morning’s release of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce’s 1st quarter 2024 indices of consumer and business confidence, Mr Anderson said while fewer people noted crime as their main concern compared to last year, it still came out as the top concern.

He noted that 59% of those surveyed indicated that crime and violence was the most critical issue affecting Jamaica.

Unemployment was next in line at 17 per cent.

He said citizens believe that more and better paying jobs would help to address the issue of crime and violence.
