CPFSA probes rape of 7-y-o by adult cousin in Trelawny
The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) is investigating the rape of a 7-year-old child by her 26-year-old male cousin in Trelawny.
According to the agency, the incident occurred at the man’s home, on Saturday, January 20.
He has since been arrested and was charged on Monday, January 22.
Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA, Mrs. Laurette Adams-Thomas, said the agency is providing psychological support to the victim and her family.
She encouraged persons to report child abuse, through the 211 reporting hotline, as well as the agency’s email, social media platforms, or parish offices.
