CPFSA offers support to relatives of Trelawny boy who drowned in a pond
The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) is offering psyco-social support to relatives of a young boy who reportedly drowned in Trelawny on Wednesday.
Dead is 10 year old Al-clyde Palmer, of Zion district in Martha Brae.
Reports are that on May 8, Palmer left home in the company of friends and when he did not return, relatives filed a missing person report with the police.
A search was launched and Palmer’s body was found in a nearby pond, the following morning.
In a statement, the CPFSA said members of the first responder’s team visited the community on Thursday, to offer grief counselling to persons affected by his death.
The child’s immediate family members were also referred to the ministry of justice’s victim’s services division for additional grief counselling.
The CPFSA said it is important that children are always in the care of responsible adults who can keep them safe from danger and harm.
The agency called on parents and guardians to ensure that they know where their children are at all times, and that they are being monitored by a trusted adult.
