CPFSA expresses shock and horror at killing of 2 children in St. Ann
The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) has expressed shock and horror at reports that 2 children were killed in Moneague, St. Ann yesterday.
Dead are 3-year-old Shamir Henry and his brother, 1-year-old Amir Saunders, of Swamp District, in Moneague.
It’s alleged that the boys were stabbed to death by the father of Amir.
It’s theorized that the man was under the influence of narcotics, at the time of the incident, having reportedly had ganja tea .
The father has been taken into custody.
The incident which occurred at the home of the father, also left the children’s mother nursing wounds.
According to the CPFSA, Amir’s mother came to visit him and brought Shamir along when the tragedy unfolded.
Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA, Mrs. Laurette Adams-Thomas said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
She further stated that the Agency is preparing to host two meetings in the community, one with the adults and another with the children.
The sessions are aimed at helping them process their grief and trauma.
