Court case involving Accompong Maroons and gov’t to be heard on October 4
The court case involving the Accompong Maroons and the government is to be heard on Tuesday October 4.
This after it was re–scheduled from it’s original Friday September 30, hearing date.
The Accompong Maroons, led by Chief Richard Currie are suing the government and the National Heritage Trust in relation to proposed mining of sections of the Cockpit Country which is occupied by the group.
The maroons have made numerous calls for the area to be protected.
