Country’s road fatalities increased to about 100 following deaths of three men in motor vehicle crash in St. Mary this morning

Jamaica’s 2025 road death statistics continue to increase.

This following the deaths of three men and the injuring of another in a motor vehicle crash along the Rio Nuevo main road in St. Mary this morning.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Speaking with IRIE FM News, Head of the St. Mary Police Division, Deputy Superintendent Anthony Wallace said the incident happened sometime after 6:30 AM.

Meanwhile, the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) is amplifying its call for motorists to cut their speed and exercise caution on the roadways.

At least 100 people have been killed on the nation’s thoroughfares so far this year.

NRSC Vice-Chairman, Dr. Lucien Jones said Jamaica has more work to do to align itself with the goal established by the World Health Organization to reduce road fatalities by 50 per cent by 2030.
