Country’s 2 main political parties say they are ready for today’s election
The Jamaica Labour Party has indicated that it’s confident of victory in today’s General Election and Local Government By-Elections, based on its track record of performance and effective campaigning over the past few months.
The JLP will be fielding 66 candidates; the full slate for all 63 constituencies, as well as 3 for the Chancery Hall, Olympic Gardens and Denham Town divisions in the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC).
Chairman of the JLP Communication Task Force, Abka Fitz-Henley said the party is fully prepared and ready.
In the meantime, the People’s National Party has stated that it too is ready for today’s elections.
The PNP will be fielding 66 candidates; the full slate for all 63 constituencies, as well as 3 for the Chancery Hall, Olympic Gardens and Denham Town divisions in the KSAMC.
PNP General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell said party workers are prepared and all supporters are excited to vote.
