Councillor-elect for Waterloo division, Winston Ennis dismisses suggestions that he resigned from the JLP
Councillor-elect for the Waterloo division in Kingston, Winston Ennis has dismissed suggestions that he has resigned from the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
This, after a leaked WhatsApp voice note emerged last evening, with Mr Ennis indicating that he would withdraw his membership from the party.
In a statement this morning, Mr Ennis explained that the sentiments captured in the voice note were expressed in the heat of the moment.
He said he remains a committed member of the JLP.
Mr Ennis noted that he met last night with members of his division and party workers to assure them of his commitment to resolving issues stemming from his leaked voice note.
A resignation from Ennis would have broken the current 20-20 tie in the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation, following last Monday’s polls.
