Cornwall College back to face-to-face classes; food trucks vetted by public health department serving school as canteen still closed

The Cornwall College in St. James has returned to the face-to-face learning modality.

Classes switched to the online learning method after the school’s canteen was shuttered to implement recommendations by the parish’s public health department.

The department inspected the canteen on Friday, February 19.

In a notice last Friday, the institution said the online learning modality would continue on Monday and yesterday as the school addressed the necessary modifications.

Providing an update to IRIE FM News, Head of the St. James Public Health Services, Lennox Wallace noted that the canteen remains closed but food trucks vetted by the department will be used, as physical classes resume today.

Mr. Wallace says the department is satisfied so far with the canteen’s implementation of its recommendations.
