Consumers are paying significantly less for fruits and vegetables.

Agriculture Minister Floyd Green says nearly 70% of vegetables saw price reductions, some by as much as 66%.

Prices of fruits and vegetables soared after Hurricane Beryl last July.

Mr. Green explains that over the past months, the Ministry has monitored the impact of weather patterns and market forces on farmers and consumers.

He says the market is stabilizing, showing clear signs of recovery.

The Agriculture Minister also shares that, in some instances, price reductions range from 9 to 23%.

He adds that this downward trend is expected to continue, bringing further relief to consumers.

The Minister points out that challenges remain for some fruits but adds that there is good news from the banana sector.
