Constable charged following murder and attempted suicide in Richmond, St. Mary
Detectives have charged a constable following a murder and attempted suicide, in Richmond, St. Mary last month.
Charged with the murder of 20-year-old D’Jonnay Graham is 22-year-old Constable Patrick Walters.
Reports are that on June 25, at about 9:15 P.M., Graham and Walters had a dispute during which Graham was shot.
The police were summoned and on their arrival both Graham and Walters were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were taken to hospital, where Graham was pronounced dead and Walters hospitalised.
A file on the matter was prepared and submitted, to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for a ruling.
On thursday, July 17, the DPP ruled that Constable Walters, be charged with the offences of murder and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Walters was subsequently released from the hospital in the custody of the police.
He was charged, yesterday.
