Classes progressing well at Oracabessa Primary following fire at institution on Wednesday
Classes are progressing well at the Oracabessa Primary School in St. Mary following a fire at the institution on Wednesday.
No injury was reported but the blaze affected a building that houses the reading lab, a storage area for sports gear and a classroom.
Firefighters are still trying to ascertain what led to the blaze.
Principal Winsome Forbes told IRIE FM News yesterday that face-to-face classes would resume today for students in grades three to six, while grades 1 to 2 would be engaged online.
Providing an update this morning, she noted that the grade 3 to 6 students are at school, and operations are almost back to normal.
She said full face-to-face classes are expected to resume on Monday, March 3.
In the meantime, Ms. Forbes said Jamaica Day activities, initially scheduled for today, have been postponed until next Tuesday.
