Classes at Jericho Primary School in Linstead, St. Catherine were disrupted this morning after students and staff received news that a Grade 5 teacher had passed away.

Ms. Cassandra Rigg died at hospital after dealing with a medical issue.

The school’s Vice Principal, Shernette Brown told IRIE FM news that after receiving news of Ms. Rigg’s death, students had to be sent home.

She said the school community is devastated at her passing.
