The Clarendon police theorize that a double murder in the parish yesterday is linked to a drug deal.
Two men were shot and killed in Race Course Clarendon.
The deceased are 28-year-old Tevin Ofield of Gimmi-me-bit and 24-year-old Brandon Thompson of Haylesfield both in Clarendon.
Head of the Clarendon police Acting Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell said residents called the police around 3:45 PM after hearing loud explosions.
He said when the police arrived on the scene, Thompson was seen in a ditch with gunshot wounds to the upper body, while Ofield was found in a nearby canefield with gunshot wounds to the upper body.
They were pronounced dead at hospital.
In the meantime, Derrick Hamilton has been named as a person of interest in the investigation and is being asked to report to the police.
