Clarendon police set a target of fewer than 70 murders for 2025

The Clarendon police have set a target of fewer than 70 murders for 2025.

This was revealed by Commanding Officer for the Clarendon Division, Senior Superintendent Shane McCalla, to Prime Minister Andrew Holness, who visited the parish today.

He explained that for the first time in 15 years, the parish recorded fewer than 70 murders last year.

So far this year, the number of murders is down compared to the same period last year.

SSP McCalla said the objectives include gang reduction and addressing domestic disputes.

Meantime, Dr. Holness commended the police for their efforts to reduce crime in Clarendon.
