A Clarendon man was stabbed to death in his community, allegedly by his common law wife on Monday.

He has been identified as 36 year old Orane Cole, a farmer of Mitchell Town, in the parish.

Head of the Clarendon Police, acting Senior Superintent Carlos Russell, said the incident happened around 10:00 p.m.

He said Cole and his 53 year old partner got into a heated argument and that Cole used a piece of wood to slap the woman all over her body.

The divisional head said in retaliation, the woman allegedly used a knife to stab cole to the left side of his chest.

He said the woman is under police guard at hospital.

In the meantime, he called on citizens not to resort to violence when they have disputes, but to talk it out.
