Clarendon and St. Elizabeth fishers receive grants and supplies from government
Over 219 rolls of mesh wire were handed over to fishers in Clarendon and St. Elizabeth, recently.
The wire will be used to replace fish pots that were lost during Hurricane Beryl.
The donations were made by the fisheries ministry, through the National Fisheries Authority (NFA) in collaboration with the Sandals Foundation.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Fisheries Minister Floyd Green, noted that some fishers also received vouchers to replace their damaged or lost nets.
Meantime, while speaking at the handing over of supplies at the Great Bay Fishing Beach in St. Elizabeth, Mr. Green noted that the ministry will be carrying out repairs to infrastructure at the fishing beach.
