Civil society calls for election manifestos to include concrete plans to address environmental degradation and other issues
Civil society groups, including the Jamaica Environment Trust (JET) are calling for election manifestos to include concrete plans to address environmental degradation.
It is one of several environmental issues civil society organizations hope will be tackled by political leaders.
In a joint statement this morning, the group notes with concern the promises of economic growth and infrastructure projects, while environmental issues remain sidelined.
JET’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Theresa Rodriguez-Moodie, said plans to address these problems must be outlined.
