Water Minister Matthew Samuda says Citizens in western Jamaica should see major improvements in their water supply in three weeks.

This, as he highlighted works being done in West End, on the Salt Creek Bridge, and other areas. 

The emergency works follow calls from citizens and the Opposition for the government to address water woes in several parishes, namely Hanover and Westmoreland.

The water issues were exacerbated due to the drought which impacted the island earlier in the year.

Speaking at a stakeholder meeting on water resilience yesterday, Mr. Samuda said that while the impact of the projects underway is already being felt, more citizens will benefit from the work when it is completed.
