Chronic Law back in US custody; manager urges calm

“What, not again” and “This is crazy” are among the reactions from social media users following reports that dancehall artiste Chronic Law is back in US custody in South Florida, just months after his 73-day ICE detention.

According to a statement from his manager, Alexandre “Bashy” Jones, the entertainer’s team is aware of reports surrounding his detention and confirms that his legal team is actively handling the matter.

“At this time, I ask the public, members of the media, and fans to remain calm and allow the legal process to take its course,” the statement read.

Bashy added that he has full confidence the situation will be resolved through the appropriate legal channels, and urged the public to avoid speculation and the spread of unverified information while the case is ongoing.

He also expressed gratitude to fans worldwide for their continued prayers, love, and unwavering support for the deejay.

According to reports,Chronic Law was booked by Broward County law enforcement on firearm-related charges on July 5, 2026.

This marks the second time this year the artiste has been detained in the United States. In January, he was held by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) before being released in March.
