Child killer Kayodi Satchell sentenced to life in prison for murder of Danielle Rowe
Convicted child killer Kayodi Satchell was today sentenced to life in prison for the murder of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe.
She will serve 27 years and 4 months before being eligible for parole.
One of her attorneys Donnovan Collins told Irie Fm News that the sentence was handed down at around 11:30 am in the Home Circuit Court.
He said despite the sentence no party has won in this situation, noting that the killing of children must end.
Satchell’s other attorney, Pierre Rogers in making submissions earlier this month said the 32-year-old dental assistant never meant to kill the child, but did so out of frustration because her efforts to have the father prosecuted were unsuccessful.
Danielle was taken from the Braeton Primary and Infant School on June 8 last year.
She was later found wandering on Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew with her throat slashed.
A passersby rushed her to the Bustamante Hospital for children where she was admitted for treatment but died two days later.
Following investigations, Satchell was arrested and charged with murder.
