A four-year-old boy seen in a recent video on social media being verbally abused by a man, has been placed in the care of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, (CPFSA).

According to the CPFSA, the man in the video is said to be the child’s father.

Acting CEO Michelle McIntosh-Harvey, says as soon as the video was brought to the agency’s attention, a team of investigators was assigned to the case.

She notes that the boy was located and is safely housed.

Meantime, in the wake of the video, and others like it on social media, in which children are shown being harmed, Mrs McIntosh Harvey has condemned all perpetrators of this and other heinous acts against the nation’s children.

She says while social media can serve to bring cases to the attention of the CPFSA, she is cautioning that when persons take a video of a child being abused and post it on social media instead of reaching out to the CPFSA or the police, that child could be further put in harm’s way.

Noting that the number of children being harmed and abused keeps rising daily, the acting CEO reiterates that the first point of contact should be the free 24/7 child abuse reporting number, 211, or to the nearest police station.
