Chief Transformation Officer engaged to lead implementation process in education sector
A chief transformation officer has been engaged, to lead the implementation of recommendations to transform Jamaica’s education sector.
This, according to the Education Transformation Oversight Committee (ETOC), which is tasked with implementing the recommendations contained in the ‘Reform of education in Jamaica 2021 report’.
Providing an update on the progress made to date, ETOC Chairman Dr. Adrian Stokes notes that significant progress has been made in the implementation of the building blocks for the transformation.
He says four key building blocks were identified for laying a solid foundation for the implementation effort.
These include the finalization of a blue print to implement the recommendations of the Patterson report and finalization of a monitoring and evaluation framework.
The completion of a budget and improving the education ministry’s capacity to lead the transformation effort, mainly by hiring a chief transformation officer, were also identified as key areas.
Dr. Stokes says significant progress has been made.
Dr. Stokes notes that the engagement of the chief transformation officer was a key deliverable, for the transformation effort.
