Charges to be laid following massive gun and ammunition seizure at Newport West
Charges are expected to be laid against two people who were arrested in connection with Monday’s massive firearm and ammunition seizure, at Newport West, in Kingston.
66 firearms, including 16 high-powered rifles, along with over 4,700 rounds of ammunition were seized, after authorities intercepted a container shipped from the United States.
Following investigations, two suspects were arrested yesterday.
Head of the Constabulary’s Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch, (CTOC) Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr. Anthony McLaughlin said the 2 persons are expected to be charged, in the coming days.
He said other persons will also be questioned.
