Central Bank expects continued growth in tourism sector despite uncertainties in the United States

Despite concerns that uncertainties in the United States (US) will affect Jamaica’s tourism, the country’s Central Bank is projecting continued growth in the sector.

Bank of Jamaica’s Deputy Governor, Robert Stennett, explained that though persons might be hesitant to travel to Jamaica from the US at this time, the island will still benefit from visitors from other countries.

Mr. Stennett also noted that the tourism industry has been performing well over the past few years, so any retardation to its growth at this time, will not affect the sector’s overall achievements.

Stennett was speaking at a Quarterly Monetary Press Conference this morning.
