Cavalier off and flying ..with 2-nil win over Mount Plesant in Concacaf Caribbean Cup
Jamaica Premier League champions Cavalier got off to a winning start in the Concacaf Caribbean Cup with a 2 nil win over debutantes Mount Pleasant at Sabina Park last night.
The St Ann-based standard bearers found themselves trailing after 10 minutes when Christopher Ainsworth shot Cavalier in front from the penalty spot.
The lead was extended by Shaquille Stein who nodded home from close range, getting on the end of a cross by Jalmaro Calvin.
Mount Pleasant fought gallantly, but were unable to make any breakthrough as Cavalier climbed to the top of the group with 3 points.
Cavalier will next be in action against Police FC of Trinidad and Tobago at Sabina Park next Thursday, while Mount Pleasant will seek to bounce back when they take on fellow Jamaican Club Arnett Gardens on Tuesday.
