During his contribution in parliament yesterday, Dr. Holness said the bill to establish the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NARRA) under its own special purpose legislation was tabled at the sitting. He said NARRA will have special powers to accelerate development approvals, as well as procurement, enabling the execution of resilient infrastructure projects at a scale and speed Jamaica has never seen before.

It was tabled by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness during his budget debate presentation. He noted that beach access has been a contentious issue in Jamaica for decades, with many citizens expressing concern about having to pay to visit some beaches.

He pointed out that small island developing states face particular challenges from organised crime. Dr Chang made the comments this morning, at the joint inaugural Level 2- Tactical Training Graduation, for officers from the Jamaica Constabulary and the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands TCI police and regiment.

They are, 50-year-old Coleen Reynolds, of Cumberland, Portmore, 43-year-old Lashon Young, of Waterford, Portmore, and 27-year-old Jahvon Hassock of Eltham Park, Spanish Town, all in St. Catherine, as well as 47-year-old Keith Reid, otherwise called 'Miguel, of Llandewey, St. Thomas.

He made the announcement during his budget debate presentation in parliament yesterday. According to Dr Holness, for NHT beneficiaries with five to ten years of service, interest rates will be cut by 1-percent, while those with ten years or more will see a reduction of 2 percent.
