State Minister for Industry, Investment and Commerce, Delano Seiveright says his ministry has committed to getting more businesses in the beauty and personal care services industry formalized allowing for access to bigger opportunities. Speaking at the opening of the Jamaica International Beauty Expo recently, Mr. Seiveright said many entrepreneurs have the talent to succeed but are limiting their growth by remaining informal.

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says Jamaica has the best quality potable water in the region supplied by the National Water Commission (NWC). Praising the Commission for maintaining this high standard, he said external parties like those in the cruise shipping industry have taken significant interest in the water supplied by the entity.

Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby says the first phase of the drainage-cleaning project, which will include 9 divisions will cost $23 million. Yesterday, the Mayor along with members of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation visited critical drains and gullies along the coastline.

The deceased are 25-year-old Adriel Hewitt of Ascot Drive Old Harbour, St. Catherine and 48-year-old Cecil Lewis of Colgate Ocho Rios, St. Ann. In the latest incident at around 7:30 PM lawmen report that Lewis was driving a motorcycle along the Breadnut Hill main road.

He made the admission as he reiterated that the Government will be investing $15 billion in the island's water network this fiscal year. The Minister was speaking at the National Water Commission's (NWC) employees long service awards ceremony in Kingston last evening.
