Scores of placard-bearing demonstrators gathered at the Cross Roads Clock and War Memorial in Kingston this morning to express their discontent with several actions taken by the Holness administration. Chief among the concerns is the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which would facilitate the temporary transit of Third Country Nationals (TCNs) through Jamaica.

The new Commanding Officer for the Manchester Police, Deputy Superintendent Odean Dennis says he will be continuing effective strategies implemented by his predecessor while tweaking other measures to maximize effectiveness in tackling crime in the parish. In recent months Manchester has seen an increase in murders when compared to last year.

Minister of National Security and Peace, Dr. Horace Chang, is appealing to Jamaicans not to target a St. Mary Airbnb owner, whose business has been affected after her property was wrongly identified as the location to house Third Country Nationals (TCNs). Dr. Chang says the reports have caused significant harm to the retired Jamaican public servant whose business has suffered booking cancellations and financial losses in addition to emotional stress.

The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) which met last Thursday and Friday says while inflation has remained within the Bank’s inflation target range of 4 to 6 per cent over the last three months, the inflation outlook remains uncertain.The Committee assessed that the risks to inflation from geopolitical tensions, while moderating, remain elevated with inflation projected to temporarily breach the upper limit of the target range in the near term.

Councillor for the Savanna-la-Mar Division in Westmoreland, Julian Chang, has resigned from the People's National Party (PNP).The PNP, in a statement yesterday, said it received her resignation.
