This in the wake of claims by Jamaica Teachers’ Association President Mark Malabver yesterday who alleged among other things that some shelteeres were engaging in sexual acts in clear view of students. There are 81 persons being accommodated at schools across eight shelter sites.

The Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA) says the hospital is saddened by the outcome of the case, in the death of Shandale Ballentine’s baby and expresses sincere condolences to the patient and the affected families. The mother has detailed her ordeal at the hospital in social media posts saying she has several questions to be answered.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett is in Washington, D.C. in the United States, where he is undertaking a series of high-level engagements, including delivering the inaugural Don Hawkins Distinguished Lecture at the George Washington University School of Business. The lecture, scheduled for tomorrow, will form part of the university’s official tribute to the late Professor Donald E. Hawkins and will be delivered under the theme, “From Jamaica to the World: A Global Contribution to Tourism Resilience.”
