President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica Dawn-Marie Richards says she will visit the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James today, following last week's protest by nurses attached to the Accident and Emergency department. The nurses called for better working conditions, with overcrowding at the A and E department among their concerns.
The prosecution in Constable Noel Maitland's trial says it believes all the evidence presented in court proves that he is responsible for the death of his girlfriend Donna-Lee Donaldson.
Maitland has been charged with the murder of the 24-year-old influencer who was reported missing sometime around July 13, 2022.
The Jamaica Constabulary is reporting a 45% decline in murders so far this year.
The latest data show that 22 murders were committed between January 1 and 17.
Ten guns have been seized by the police in Area 3 since the start of the year.
Outgoing Commander, Assistant Commissioner Calvin Allen says the police have also seized ammunition.
