Sixty (60) murders were recorded in February. Police data indicate that at the end of last month, there were 93 murders. There was a  record low of thirty-three murders recorded at the end of January.

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has stressed that Jamaica is working towards recording fewer than 500 murders this year. He made the statement at the Jamaican Diaspora Town Hall in St. Kitts and Nevis at the weekend.

Eleven (11) newly constructed classrooms were opened at the  Holmwood Technical High School in Manchester, today.  The school received an expansion of its facilities with the classrooms being supported by a staff room, and restrooms on four floors.
