Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton indicated last week that a study on the impact of social media in Jamaica is being conducted and was nearing completion. The information from that study will be used in the national discussion on imposing social media restrictions on children under 16 years old.
The $500 million initiative forms part of the Ministry’s broader policy agenda focused on addressing the social determinants of health and strengthening the role of families and communities in disease prevention and wellness promotion. The fund will be administered over a two-year period.
