The case involving a man charged in relation to a gun attack over a decade ago has been transferred from the St. Catherine Parish Court to the Gun Court.

The accused is 31-year-old Akeem Jackson, otherwise known as ‘Bobo Sparks’ of Twickenham Park, St. Catherine.

Reports are that in September 2016, Jackson and his accomplices, all armed with guns, went to a woman’s home in Twickenham Park.

During the incident, Jackson allegedly opened fire on the house.

The occupants managed to escape unharmed.

The matter was reported to the police, and an investigation was launched.

During the probe, it was revealed that Jackson had fled Jamaica.

He was named most wanted by the St Catherine North Police.

In June 2018, police in The Bahamas arrested Jackson in relation to an armed robbery.

In January 2020, Jackson was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Last Friday, he was deported from The Bahamas to Jamaica.

Local police apprehended him during an intelligence-led operation.

Following a question-and-answer session, Jackson was formally charged with two counts of shooting with intent, malicious destruction of property, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit an offence.

Jackson appeared before Parish Judge Desiree Alleyne today and she transferred the matter to Kingston.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Gun Court on March 20.
