CARICOM Eminent Persons Group to meet in Haiti to continue consultations re instability in the country
Members of the CARICOM’s Eminent Persons Group will be traveling to Haiti to continue consultations addressing the political and economic crises in the country, in the coming weeks.
This, as Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson-Smith notes that there was no final resolution achieved in the stakeholder consultations that were held in Jamaica earlier this week.
The meetings were intended to formulate solutions to the ongoing political and economic crises in Haiti.
The meetings were led by the Eminent Persons Group.
Speaking in the Senate this morning, Mrs. Johnson-Smith said she hopes the continued consultations will help build consensus and allow for inclusive participation in a neutral environment, towards restoring stability in Haiti.
