CARICOM Chair says Caribbean nations are facing a resource challenge in their efforts to assist Haiti in combatting gangs
Chairman of CARICOM Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says Caribbean nations are facing a resource challenge in their efforts to assist Haiti in combatting gangs.
The Government of Haiti has been battling gangs which have caused instability in the country.
Kenya has been leading the mission to provide assistance to the war-torn nation, with Jamaica and Belize among countries that have assisted.
Speaking at the close of the CARICOM conference in St. James yesterday, Dr. Holness said resources are not enough to provide a full deployment of security personnel.
He said while Belize and Jamaica have deployed security personnel, other nations in the region have announced their intention to provide support to Haiti.
