Caribbean students ready for electronic examinations and CXC ready to meet the moment – CEO Dr. Wayne Wesley
“Students across the Caribbean are ready for electronic examinations and the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is ready to meet the moment.”
That’s according to CXC’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wayne Wesley, during a virtual press conference this morning.
He was providing an update on the Council’s first fully electronic and hybrid examinations session held in January 2026.
Dr. Wesley noted that the e-transition initiative is reshaping the assessment of student learning in the Caribbean.
10, 481 candidates registered for the exams across 17 Caribbean states.
96 per cent of the entries were fully e-administered.
Dr. Wesley noted that though the electronic exams posed some challenges, they did not compromise the integrity of the sessions.
He added that the sessions were carried out successfully.
