Carib Cement still working to address supply issues
Caribbean Cement Limited is assuring customers who faced difficulty accessing cement in recent weeks that it has returned to full production and is working to address supply issues.
Following Hurricane Beryl, amidst an increase in construction activities, contractors complained about a shortage of cement.
In a statement today, Caribbean Cement explained that Hurricane Beryl had an adverse impact on planned product volumes during its annual scheduled maintenance, resulting in unexpectedly low inventory levels.
It assured that its teams are working diligently to restore inventory levels as quickly as possible.
The company noted that it has returned to full production following the successful completion of the maintenance programme, which was unavoidable.
It said through its 24-hour operation, the company has maintained a strong daily production rate to meet the targets of daily market demands, already reaching over 4,000 metric tonnes, which is higher than budgeted levels.
Managing Director, Jorge Martinez, noted that measures are being taken to ensure a reliable supply going forward.
