Captain Stafanie Taylor retained by Guyana Amazon Warriors
Explosive Jamaican batter Stafanie Taylor is among a group of five West Indies Women players retained by the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the 2024 edition of the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
Taylor in 2023 led the Amazon Warriors to the WCPL final where they finished runners up after losing by eight runs to the Barbados Royals.
Those retained includes Karishma Ramharack, Shemaine Campbelle, Natasha McClean, Shakera Selman along with pacer Shabnim Ismail who is South Africa’s all-time leading wicket-taker in both the One Day International and T20 International formats.
The newly signed players for the amazon warriors are Australian batter Erin Burns who won the WCPL with Barbados Royals in 2023, south Africa all-rounder Chloe Tryon and England batter Lauren Winfield-Hill.
Six of the remaining seven spots will be filled at the upcoming WCPL Draft which take place in July, with the final spot on the roster going an overseas player who will be confirmed before the start of the tournament.
The 2024 Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League take place in Trinidad from August 21 to 29 with all seven matches at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
