An appeal has been made, for bauxite company WINDALCO  to provide lands, to facilitate relocation of residents of Content in Manchester. 

The area is still affected by ground water that rose to cover many sections, including several homes following hurricane Melissa.

The water is receding but many residents are concerned about their safety and do not want to return to their homes.

Councillor for the Bellefield Division, Mario Mitchell said he wrote to WINDALCO to formally make the appeal. 

He also called on the government to assist with the relocation through the Social Housing Programme. 

He noted that as the water recedes the road through the community is usable again.

This means, access can be gained to the area by engineers and utility companies.
