The management of the Bustamante Hospital for Children has launched an internal investigation into reports of alleged medical negligence in the care provided to a four-year-old patient treated at the institution.

In a release this afternoon, the hospital noted that it has been made aware of videos circulating on social media with the allegations.

It said in response it promptly launched an internal investigation to review the circumstances surrounding the case.

The hospital said it has already made contact with the family involved, offering guidance on the matter.

It noted further that the family has been encouraged to submit a formal written complaint to facilitate a meeting with the relevant hospital teams to address their concerns directly.

The hospital said it will continue to work closely with the family and relevant authorities to resolve the matter in a transparent and timely manner.

It added that it remains dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to all children in need and will ensure that any findings from the investigation are addressed appropriately.
