Brittany Anderson set to miss the 2023 World Athletics championships in Budapest
Reigning world championship 100 meters hurdles silver medalist Brittany Anderson is set to miss the 2023 World Athletics championships in Budapest this summer.
Reports are that Anderson suffered a recent injury in training at her base in Italy.
It’s understood the 22 year old reigning national champion fell over a hurdle and damaged a ligament in her left knee.
The national record holder is currently wearing a knee brace, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Anderson set a new national record of 12.31 seconds in the 100 meters hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon last year.
She ran a wind-aided 12.23 seconds in the final to secure the silver medal as gold went to Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, who ran 12.06 (wind aided) in the final.
Amusan ran the world record 12.12 seconds in the semi-final.
