Brianna Wiliams to focus on the sprint double in 2024
Olympic 4×100 women’s relay gold medalist Brianna Williams says she will be focusing on the sprint double this year as the build up continues for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
Williams a former World Junior sprint double champion…….was recently in action at the World Athletics Indoor Championship in Glasgow, Scotland where she missed out on a place in the women’s 60 meters final.
The 22 year old who runs out of the Titans Club says she is ready to take on both sprint events in 2024. ” This year I will be doing the double , and will be focussing on the 200 metres a bit more, I actually love the event, earlier in my career I was a afraid, but now its time to get rocking and rolling and run the event a bit more” .
Williams who opened her season at the SW Isaac Henry track meet over 60 metres, where she won the event in 7.31 seconds.
Her personal bets over 100 metres stands at 10.94 seconds done in 2022, while her 200 metres life time best is 22.50 seconds set back in 2018.
