Principal of Breadnut Hill Primary School in St. Ann, Sharon Minott, says the institution will ensure that students are educated on fire safety as part of the upcoming disaster preparedness week activities.

This, in the wake of the tragic death of 7-year-old Tashawna Mattis, a Grade 2 student, in a house fire on Sunday. 

Tashawna died alongside her two younger siblings, 2-year-old Tavaughno and 4-year-old Tashawnie. 

Ms. Minott says the school will ensure students know how to respond in the event of fire emergencies, in the hopes of preventing a repeat of Sunday’s tragic incident.
