Boom Dandimite remembered: Memorial event set for May 21 in Seaview Gardens

The legacy of late dancehall entertainer Boom Dandimite will once again be celebrated as project boom Dandimite foundation prepares to host a memorial event in honour of the former Scare Dem Crew member on Thursday, May 21, at Falcon in Seaview Gardens.

The foundation, which was established in his memory, says all proceeds from the event will go towards the continued work of the Project Boom Dandimite Foundation and its community outreach initiatives.

Born Herman Stewart, Boom Dandimite died on May 21, 2023, at a hospital in the United States after suffering a major relapse while recovering from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Jamaica in April 2023.

His passing sent shockwaves through the dancehall fraternity, especially among fans of the iconic Scare Dem Crew, the influential dancehall collective that helped shape the genre during the 1990s.

Boom Dandimite’s family has continued to keep his legacy alive through charitable efforts in the Seaview Gardens community, where the entertainer developed his passion for music.

Last May, his daughters donated school supplies to the Seaview gardens SDA Basic Cchool during the national observance of Child Month.

According to his daughters, the initiative reflected the caring and generous spirit that Boom Dandimite embodied throughout his life.
