BOJ continues to hold policy rate at 5.75 per cent
The Bank of Jamaica, BOJ continues to hold the policy rate at 5.75 per cent.
The decision was taken during meetings of the bank’s Monetary Policy Committee on August 18 and 19.
Speaking at a press briefing this morning, BOJ Governor Richard Byles said the stance was taken following deliberations against the background of low domestic inflation amid global uncertainties, among other things.
He said the factors which informed the decision included developments in the foreign exchange market and low headline inflation in comparison to July 2024.
