Body of woman who was washed away in river in Castleton St. Mary found
The body of the woman, who was washed away when the Wag Water river in Castleton, St. Mary was in spate on Thursday, has been found.
The search continues for the man who was also washed away.
Member of Parliament for South East St. Mary Dr. Norman Dunn said the woman’s body was recovered at about mid-day.
Reports are that on September 12, a group of visitors from Kingston went to the Castleton Gardens attraction.
Further reports are that heavy rains caused the river to become in spate, and 2 persons were washed away.
Relatives of the 2 persons, the police and soldiers carried out searches for them since Thursday evening.
The search efforts have been hampered by inclement weather and poor visibility.
