Bob Marley Museum set to host Yellow Girl & Me film screening

Yellow Girl and Me,” a powerful and poignant film directed by Bella Issa, is set to screen at the Bob Marley Museum as part of the Independent Film Series.

The film tells the story of Nicole, a young Jamaican child, and her sister Yellow Girl, navigating the harsh realities of their lives.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with JAFTA, WIFT, representatives from Hear the Children’s Cry and the Ministry of National Security, dissecting the creative and social commentary behind the film.

The film will be shown tonight, Thursday, March 27, at 6pm with gates opening at 7pm.

Bella Issa’s film has garnered attention for its thought-provoking portrayal of sisterhood, resilience, and the quest for freedom.

The discussion will highlight the importance of women in Jamaican cinema and the impact of films like “Yellow Girl and Me” on social commentary
